WTB: Donut Gasket adapter (PLEEEEEEASE!)
Desperately in need of a donut gasket adapter. I'm nearly finished putting my Helix 3" Downpipe and Cobb catback on. Problem is, the Cobb tapers to 2.5 at the turbo side of the midpipe. I desperately need the 3" to 2.5" donut gasket adapter. Plans to drive to Tahoe this weekend...

A 3" gasket will work temporarily. Not great, but passable for a few thousand miles.
You need this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/3-Dow...Q5fAccessories
I run an Invidia 3" DP to a Cobb CBE, no leaks with that setup and a new donut gasket.

I might not understand fully why you need this. I am running a 3" downpipe with the Cobb catback. I made my own gasket out of thin, cheap gasket material, and used grey RTV to ensure a good seal. No leaks, and it bolted right up!!

That's the gist of what I've heard. Not to mention if you have to swap the cat back to the stock for emissions, it's a breeze if you've got the adapter. I would have tried the flat gasket with silicone trick if I wasn't driving to Tahoe this weekend. I didn't want to find out it didn't work half way up the pass...
Of course the other option I'm considering is just having a local muffler shop hack the 2.5 off the midpipe and weld a 3" on there. Seeing how the adapter costs 40-50 new, I could probably get a full, untapered 3" with the mod for that much.
Any one have any reccomendations for a good shop to do that, if I go that direction?
Thanks again for all the input.

My brother has one laying around; probably used it for a few days only. We're in Santa Clara. Let me know if you want me to ask him about it.
