I am starting thing thread to better differentiate between my "02RS25's RSTI Swap" thread to keep this for parts needed for my bbuild, and the other thread for proj updates.

As stated, im looking for those of you that have boxes of random bits and pieces that where once powering an EJ25. this mean anything from casebolts to OEM turbo and onward. this will be an ongoing thread as I expect my total swap to take 2-5 years and will need parts as I go along with the build. some parts will be brand new, some will be used.

So, where all you pack rats at!?

 

Ill be starting to look for sti heads for the build. Even heads without cams work. Should I buy used heads, idnlike to get the heads machined regardless. That being said, ncan any of you reccomend good shops in the bay area? Ive taken a look arpund via web, but im sure there are a few of you on here that can point me in the direction of good quality work with prior subaru surfacing experience.

I got the case, crank and pistons. Dont veer far away tho, should thisblock and suchnot pass inspection, ill be in the market for another shorty

im looking to build up shortblock first. so right now im looking for misc shortblock related items. i.e case bolts (will be using new bolts in finnal build), wrist pin plugs, etc.

PM me, both of you, with parts that can start me building the shorty. after that, ill most likely be coming back for other parts if needed. as stated before, on a tight budget on this build and expect it to take time. so im trying to buy parts related to the stage in the build im at (short block assembly, heads assembly, long block assembly, pulleys, belts, turbo, etc.)


also, as a side note to this thread, ive seen a couple people on here selling BNIB parts that never made it to their build. you guys are welcome too!

Bumping this post one more time.

Long story short, im going to have to shift from STI to RS head rebuild. I recently found out i have an internal head gasket leak (exhaust in coolant!) that being said, i am going to have to pull engine, machine heads (i hear different suggestions. machine? or dont machine? SOHC) and rebuild heads myself (new stem seals, sleeves, shims, etc.)

any reputable shops arounf the area. i have a few places noted down i will be looking at this week. but prior subaru head machining experience a plus!

I've got an STI master cylinder and Booster if you're looking to do a brake upgrade. And an intercooler sprayer set up. Just needs the switch and wires.
