cheap WRX on sale on www.Craigslist.org

Not mine, but I thought someone may be looking for one. Really cheap so I would be cautious.

Car Info: MY04 aspen wrx wagon.
my 04 has more miles than that...a lot more.

I'd think that would go for more like $16k plus?

Has to be a salvage title..no accidents doesn't mean it's not salvage title. or a type-0.
Maybe the want 20k for it?

I heard there was a guy on craigslist selling salvaged wrx's and pawning them off as clean ones. Supposedly he also listed one salvaged wrx as a legacy!?! Buyer beware...make sure to do a carfax on this one.

Hey that was just like my old car: 03' with about 21,xxx miles. If you buy it and then "accidentally" total it, you can get $21,5xx back for it. Too good to be true...

I emailed him and this is what he sent back to me

Hello
The car is in Chicago with me and I'm willing to shipp it to you but I prefer that you'll come here and inspect yourself. The final price is 9800 USD and it has a CLEAN TITLE.

The reason I'm selling it is because I found a great SUV here at the same price.
I have many potential buyers that's why in order to hold the car for you or to shipp it to your address I will need 10 % of the price of the car as a deposit. The deposit will be made via Western union on my name.In case if you want the car to be shipped at your address I will provide you 3 days inspection period, the remaning balance will be sent to me after the inspection period has ended.
If the car does not matches 100% to your expectations,
you will return it in max. 7 days since the arrival date. In this case I will send you the deposit back and
you will send me the product in the original crate and you donīt have to pay the return shipping and insurance.

The car is in perfect condition, still under warranty .No damage,no scratches or dents, no hidden defects, and it is as advertised.
The car is an US model with US specs,it passed the test emissions and comes with all the
documents you need to register the car .
Also,if you send me your full name and address in this case I will
take you as a serious and possible buyer ( this way I
will loose all the nonpaying bidders that I occure everyday) and arrange a
further deal.
Let me have your final decison,

Yours sincerilly Mario Pretone

I am going to have to bet on scam. If the price listed is 10000, why did he say 9800 shipped. Also, the western union money order thing seems really shady. My friend works at southwest and can fly for free, I am so tempted to fly out and if it is real buy it and if not no for sure this guy is a scammer. I am 99% sure he is a scammer simply because he is listing a car for sale in a different city. What do you guys think?

Ben
