Hello bay area people,

Looking for some help with my xbox 360. Apparently when I bought it off craigslist a year ago it was modded (with a Hitachi drive?, I think). Unfortunately after I bought my discounted 1 year gold membership I find out that my console is banned when I tried to set up live.

Does anybody here on the boards know how to fix this issue or knows anyone that can. I did find flashing information when google-ling but would rather not want to mess anything up as I know I WILL break something.

Willing to pay beer or cash for services

 

i don't believe you can get unbanned from xbox live.

You need to buy a new one. Once they are banned, they are banned forever.

 

Purchase new swap return pay cash.

 

Call Microsoft, explain your situation, and they usually un-ban you. Had a friend buy his used and it was banned as well. Might as well give it a shot.

 

Buy a new one from K-mart. Bring the old one and new one to me. I will replace the internals of the xbox's and then you can return the new one and get your money back.

 

They stopped doing this last time I talked with my Microsoft rep. (Work in the industry, and have to deal with this occasionally. We've actually had our dev kits get banned for various reasons and they can't unban those!)

There are security stickers that keep the consol "together" and lets ppl know when its been opened

 

Easily peeled up carefully and replaced when finished.

 

Are you talking about the old security stickers?

Cuz you could try to peel those off if your really carefull

But the other ones leave spots when you peal it off, no matter how slow you do it.

Unfortunately I have the older new ones (white with HDMI) and not the slim version.


I was thinking about calling microsoft in a few days to see if the rep in any way can help resolve this problem. though I don't think they will be too lenient as I did buy the console not at an official retailer but through craigslist. As another member has mention, it does not hurt to try.

 

planning to sell my 360 elite with couple racing games and 2 controllers (used for a year and i rarely even play video games, probably used no more than 30 hours? only got it to play forza haha now thinking of getting a ps3 just for gt5) lmk if your interested
