Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't Perrin the headers that shouldn't be wrapped? I seem to remember a bunch cracking and Perrin pointing the finger at the wrap.

Awesome price though.

Perrin recommends not to wrap their header and yes it does void their warranty if you do. Since the L was a race car it was going to have wrap regardless of the brand although we never had any issues with the Perrin header even with the wrap. GST does NOT recommend any wrap on street vehicles. A lot of people saying they are coming to pick this up but unless someone ninja moved me then it is still available.

Why don't you recommend wrap on street vehicles?

(I have my Perrin EL wrapped as well)

I assume it is because:

- wrap is flammable if it has oil on it
- most street vehicles have no fire suppression system
- street vehicles are often driven for longer periods of time than race cars, so the wrap has greater exposure to heat...even though the heat exposure to the wrap is greater on a race car
- race cars are torn apart constantly, so the wrap can be inspected on a regular basis

I am sure Greg will correct me if I am talking out of my ***

Ahh. Yea my wrap has caught fire before when some oil spilled on it

It wasn't funny at the time though

Well Adam hit it right on the nose with all those reasons. Even though most wrap is "non-flammable" anything that has a flammable fluid on it will eventually catch on fire. We have seen to many good cars burn down to ash on the side of some road or track. On a race car the circumstances are much different which Adam also touched on most of those. Adam we have taught you well my friend, may the GST force be with you. LMAO

Not mentioned in the original post by Mike and that I have also neglected to mention is that the Perrin Equal Length Exhaust Manifold only works with a EJ25 oil pan (STi/06-07 WRX). If you change your oil pan to accommodate this header then the oil pick up has to be changed as well.

Thanks,
Greg
