still banginig my head against the pavement
thats when the next shipment will come in from pioneer. they should have D3s on that shipment, but they should have also had it on the thursday shipment. Thats the uncertainty of backorder, its a best effort delivery schedule on the part of Pioneer.

Well, I got mine installed today.
Its looks fantastics in the dash of my 350Z - dead stock once I got the color right for the illumination of the buttons. Matches the orange perfectly.
Random thoughts:
0) There is no ****ing room behind the stereo in the Z.
1) The Bluetooth module works flawlessly with my Blackberry 8700. I love it.
2) The iPod module is the best I have ever used on any system, ever (includes old and new alpine, old Pioneer and the Kenwood). its fast, and totally intuitive. My girlfriend was able to figure it out with 0 help in about 20 seconds.
3) I cant find the VSS in my car (I tapped the wire its supposed to be, but it didn't work. Fortunately, unlike previous AVICs that i have used, its not wildly inaccurate without VSS - I'm not sure I'm going to spend the time to hook it up as I really think its doing fine.
4) I did everything for the bypass (moved the mute wire, and grounded the parking brake) and it worked for the first 2 hours of my drive up to Santa Rosa. However, on the way back it reported that the Parking Brake is connected wrong and started disabling the functions it doesnt want me to have in motion. I gotta check with the AVIC 411 peeps about that.
Overall, was it worth $850 (more like 1100 after the ipod and bluetooth stuff)? Absolutely, and even more so once I get the VSS and Bypass figured out.

(Lo old chap.)
Now that does look nice. I think I might spring just for the iPod interface that finally looks sensible.
I'd be very interested to hear your impressions after a month or so.

how was the castro
very nice install btw...can't wait for mine to arrive. any updates on the bypass? it seems odd that it would work for as long as 2 hours then no more after that.
