LF: Someone Experienced to Wet Scrub and Bake Blobeye Headlights

Title says it all, mostly:

-The previous owner tried their hand at it and dun goofed. They're probably even foggier than before, and have a habit of eating my bulbs with condensation.

-I've resorted to driving with the rear caps off to circulate air inside the housing. It’s a band aid at best.

-I remember hearing some familiar/local names being dropped regarding folks who can do this, but forget who offhand.

-The outside orange markers have already been removed, and I’m not interested in blacking them out, or doing any HID retrofit (at least for now).

Hit me up, have $$$/parts/sparkling conversation/$exual favors available for compensation.

Loc: I work in Fremont, live in San Jose, and my car's in the shop for now (I do have the lights on hand though).

It'd be cool to get it done sometime next week (booked this weekend), sooner the better if possible.

Will put up some photos tonight, or can send via text before then.

Makes me wonder why none of the many headlight retrofit companies don't offer lens replacement. Most sun damaged lenses will return even with sanding and buffing.

Edit: actually looks like you can get a whole new set of brand new wrx headlights for like $300

I don't usually polish headlights lenses, because the haze always comes back no matter what kit I try and I don't want to do something for someone that isn't permanent. I would recommend lens replacement or new headlights AND a clear bra on the lights. Mine still look brand new thanks to Krinkov's clear bra skills. Once a headlight gets to a certain point there is just no bringing it back to clear. In addition to haze Subaru headlights crack a lot too (little cracks) that never come out. I can re seal them though if they leak!

And hey123 no I'm usually free weekends, can't remember what you wanted to do but I have tons of people text me and bail or promise they'll hit me up next weekend so I may have missed you, I just cleared out my phone. If you still want me to work on your headlights send me a PM, can't remember if you wanted paint or what...

Yes polishing will help it. But it needs the sealant for the lens to protect it which I have and use when polishing headlights for my clients.

The sealant is why it hazes and oxidizes yellow.

If I was seeing family up there anytime soon that would work out well, good to know.

New lenses? I wish, I really do. And it makes sense given that's the side seeing the most action.

My current head lights (on the car now) are pretty clear but also have gaping cracks in them from a boo boo I had. The ones I have at home, that came on the car, are the badly scrubbed ones. I figure I'd try and salvage them first.

My mechanic says he'll polish them just because, and any coating will be better than nothing. The real ish, apart from the condensation (could use help there if you got time), is that they were scrubbed from this inside, possibly with some chemical agents atop the sand paper, and it's bad enough to obscure lighting at night. And, uh, it just looks like sheet

Where do you get lenses, OEM or otherwise?

Copy that. Any recomendations, or just the usual 3M stuff?

And pix coming up in my next post here...

I don't use the usual 3M stuff. But I have butyl, coating, polish, and anything else to get it done. Give me call - Andrew 408-365-4378

Here is an example of polishing and coating the outside of the lens:
