hey edo...if ur alpine unit is an ainet unit, which it most likely is..u can buy a $50 adapter that lets u control ur ipod from ur head unit

 

And I even have that ipod adapter.

Also for folks with 04-06 WRX that want this setup, I have spare washers to get your stock 04-6 tophats to work with these struts so you wont get butt sag with the older top hats.

The washer size is 9/16 inner diameter, 1-1/4 outer diamter, grade 8 steel.
These washers are not usually found in OSH, Home Depot, or auto parts store.
I went to a fastener shop to get them and had to buy $10 worth to get the $3 worth I needed.

 

i think even if you have an ai-net alpine deck, there are only certain models that are compatible with the alpine ipod controller unit thingy (kca-420i or something like that). its in the manual for the ipod controller unit.

I need something compatible with Alpine KCE-422i connection cable for quicker response. i hear that it works with the newer gen ones like 9856 and up.
