Kustom(with a k) Catback exhaust, Badlanz Cutout set-up
SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD!!
WHAT:
I have a catback that is a full 3" middle section, that has a Badlanz e-cutout welded in. It is mates to a 2007 STI muffler. The Badlanz cutout and turndown are stainless. I also have a block off plate if you decide to remove the cutout. All wiring and switch are included.
This is a 1 piece exhaust, and came off my 2006 Wagon. (Some of you in the south bay have heard it)
Performance:
With the cutout open, my car was very loud, but deep because of the turndown. I placed the cutout farther back to reduce a little sound and move fumes back.
I noticed a 2 PSI increase in boost from running with the cutout open(lots more top end).
With the cutout closed it was VERY quiet. The only issues I had were typical of all cutouts. There is some vibration noise and a light sound of exhaust leaking at the cutout. If you had a louder muffler, you would not hear it at all but the STI muffler is quiet.
$: Umm i guess the cutout cost me $230 new..so how about $200 for the whole exhaust.
Ground Clearance: My wagon is lowered and I only hit a very huge speed bump in a parking lot once. I can run full speed over those 35mph speed bumps with no issues.
Location: South San Jose.

Then just zip-tie up the cable under the car.
You are correct about the MS6

I miss the top end instant power, and the looks from Corvette drivers as I make their car sound weak.

Well the item is sold now.
but to answer your question, yes you can get the cutout installed in your downpipe. (i would not do that to an expensive downpipe).
Just have it installed right at the beginning of the midpipe (there will be no less performance).
If you car is lowered, the 3" cutout is a bit large to fit well up twards the front of the car (from my experience with my lowered wagon).
Take not that you can just buy a QTP cutout downpipe. Take note that with the cutout under your seat, you could smell fumes and it will be more rediculously loud in the car.
Good luck and have fun with the cheap instant top end power.
watch out for the boost creep.
