i asked how much it was too install an uppipe a couple weeks ago and they quoted me $150. didnt think the "install special" would be the same price as before.

Well it's a parts and labor special, we don't discount labor on it's own neither do we discount parts on their own hence the "helix uppipe/downpipe installed special"

I'm trying to figure out whether to go with aftermarket up pipe or a STI, I want the stock look for warranty purposes. How would the helix compare to a stock sti pipe? In term of performance difference and potential design issues with the stock ones that takes away on the performance...Thanks in advance...

One more thing, I read somewhere that someone came to grueppe s with the ebay erz specials, and you guys installed, what did you guys think about the set? I heard they're helix replicas...any good? any help would be appreciated...

off the subject a tad but i have a person in tennessee (that does grea work) but wants to charge 4oo bucks for just the install on the up-pipe. I take it thats not really worth it. How much should it be? he says that he has to take off the turbo.

If you want the stock look you can pickup stock STI Uppipe for about $100 easily nowadays. Performance wise I would not imagine you would see much difference on a stock turbo perhaps on a bigger turbo the slightly larger Helix unit would help.

Personally I thought the ERZ was junk, the flex section looked to me that it would give out in short order. On a positive note it did somewhat fit.

You should not have to pay over $200 anywhere as any decent shop should complete this task in about 2 1/2 hours. You don't need to remove the turbo, the downpipe yes, turbo no!
