Too bad you have this deal now because I just bought a 6-pack of them online last week (I actually paid about the same price though). This is the only filter I use also.
Honeywell makes fram too.

Correct, but the filters are not the same. Besides the point. Read the thread on the oilguy forum comparing them. General consensus is that both the Subaru blue and fram filters are just fine.

At one point, the mass market Fram filters used plastic check valves that were prone to leaking as they aged and the filter became more clogged. This effectively let the oil bypass the filter. Not exactly a good idea, especially in a turbo motor. The OEM filters use a metal check valve, and at this price, there really is no reason NOT to get them.

I dont know too much about subaru's oem stuff but the brands on my work place basically have two filters with the same threading and rubber gasket diameter but one has more filtration area then the other. Of course the one with more is generally the better choice but bigger filter means a little more oil as well.

Yeah I never used fram, always oem. Also Subaru recommends you change the filter with every oil change. People who had problems were probably changing their filter twice a year

Anyway you're right. These are good filters and they are very cheap. I'll do them for $50 shipped anywhere in the bay.

I can pick them up on Tues 2/1, if you still have them or if you will hold them for me. I am for sure. I will be working in the area that day and can meet you to pick up.

Shouldn't be a problem. Any time during the day should be fine. Afternoon is better.
