Haha got distracted with my story.
Do you have to subscribe to the Navi system or was it just a one time buy with the unit when you got it? Also can you update maps on it like w/ a garmin or tom-tom?

well i did the last firmware update which would update the map at the same time.. when they come out with updates all you have to do is get them loaded either yourself or professionally.. there is no subscribing to navi with this unit as its preloaded and the only thing you need to sign up for is the xm... you'd have to call them for pricing but i get it 3 months at a time and its around $45 .. let me know if your interested.. thanks!

I am a Pioneer follower. I prefer them to most other decks. It seems like they have always been really easy to use and have very little hold botton A while pressing button B to change display C There is always a simplicity to their usability.
