FS: NEW LOWER PRICE! 2000 2.5RS Coupe (silver, 5 speed)
I can't believe I'm doing this...but I gotta, this thing is like an anchor on my life right now...so here goes...
2000 2.5RS Coupe
5-speed
Silverthorne Metallic
~46,000 miles
Original owner
Lots of stuff done...
-Kuhmo tires (about 75% left)
-Leda coilovers
-Whiteline adjustable rear sway bar
-Whiteline rear end links
-Cusco rear camber plates
-Cusco 40mm front and rear strut tower braces
-STi tranny mount
-Kartboy shifter with Cusco bushings
-MRT header & midpipe
-Borla exhaust
-Custom DIY intake with PRM inline filter*
-Magnecore spark plug wires
-Kenwood KDC X717 head unit**
-Sony 50x4 amp under passenger seat
-Sherwood 350x1 amp in trunk
-Alpine seperates in front (no rear speakers)
-Custom interior including Autometer Phantom gauges (A/F, oil pressure, volts), body color matched dash pieces (not rice, very cleanly done)
-Body color painted side skirts
-clear front corner lenses (DOT legal)
-Cobb SS brake lines
-Cobb brake pads
Included would be the stock rear sway bar, a set of used STi V5 red inverted struts and 5zigen springs...plus a set of L steel wheels which don't fit the front brakes
Now...for the bad news....
* The intake is a TRUE ram air setup, NOT using the hood scoop but using the air pressure from the front windshield. This was created by cutting a hole in the firewall. It does NOT affect the structure of the car at all...but there is a 3 in diameter hole there. It works VERY VERY well and sounds FANTASTIC, plus there is a good HP bump.
** For whatever reason my head unit stopped working. It's past warranty. It could probably be fixed...but...I'll explain later.
And the REALLY bad news...
In November of 2001 the car was in an accident. It was hit on the passenger side and the total repairs were around $15,000. The repairs were VERY well done and the car runs great...but...the passenger seat wobbles a bit (they stripped the bolts and blamed it on me) and the rear end "clunks" a bit (which could quite possibly be a result of the insane Ledas and Cusco pillow ball mounts).
And finally...the extremely dificult part for me...
I am going back to college and can't afford this machine anymore. The insurance with my driving record is awful, the cost of maintaining the car is annoying, and I need the money very badly. I know the car has some issues...it starts and drives perfectly, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that...but I am worried about what sort of costs may be in the future. I've been extremely good about keeping it clean, in tune, and oil changed. It is a dream to drive...as long as you don't mind a rough ride
So to make a long story short....the car is yours for...
New lower price! $5000.00 (was $7500)
Note: I was going to sell it before for more, but I couldn't pull the trigger. I LOVE this machine and hate to see it go. But it has to...and it pains me TERRIBLY to do this. So I'm going to sell it for an extreme deal to whomever is interested. Take it from me...please.

PS: The car did dyno at 151.5 HP and 153.2 lb ft with my older less fancy intake at ATP. Another RS with the WRX motor swap (stock except for flywheel/clutch) pulled ~190 HP. Not too bad really!
I'm working on some pics for you folks...but honestly the car simply looks like a silver 2 door 2.5RS. The body is in really really really good shape...but I will get some pics soon.

I'm sure the passenger seat can be fixed...the hole just need to be re-tapped for larger bolts. I don't personally have the equipment for it.
I'm actually going to culinary school...just finished my first year. And with school taking up so much time I can't work as much as I used to...and it's killing me financially. Plus I have a chance to go to Switzerland to school...and this $$$ would help me out BIG TIME.

Yeah...I could probably part it out for more, and money is an issue...but the major issue with me is getting that machine out of my life. OK, I'll explain...
I got the car when I got my Sr Financial Analyst job. I was Mr. Office Worker, and really thought that was going to be my calling in life...but deep down I really hated what I was doing, both work wise and with my life. So roughly a year ago I gave it all up to pursue an entirely different path...culinary school. Now I'm happier than I've ever been before. But every time I get in that car it reminds me of what I used to be...the road I walked away from. It's extremely bittersweet. So now, being back in school, working and doing something completely new and different I not only want to sell the car because of financial reasons...but it is the last piece of that former life that I want to give up. Of COURSE, someday, I am going to get an even more supremely bad *** machine and go nuts with it...but for now that must be set aside for the greater good. Therefore I've made the price super attractive...I want to both feel good about sending the car to a fellow enthusiast and do a good deed with the price. Call it Karma...
That's my story and I'm sticking with it!
Thanks for all the thoughts and kind words from you old schoolers...I really appreciate it.
I must get back to work here...and will check up here again tomorrow. If ANYONE knows anyone that may be interested...pass the word around! Thanks for all your help and I'm happy to answer any questions whenever I can.
