I was thinking about it. I'm trying to research the differences between the ej207 and the 205 (other than the turbo obviously). Maybe someone can just list them in this post so everyone else knows too...
Also, what's involved in that swap? Is the harness totally different? If so, does this come with the harness?

Semi closed deck block
Forged pistons and rods
Upgraded crankshaft(forget the specifics but it's different)
Upgraded valvetrain across the board(valves, springs, retainers, etc.)
Big port heads
Aggressive cams
8250 rev limit for the regular JDM 2.0L's with the Spec C revving out to 8500rpm
AVCS
No TGV's(Ver 7's have two piece intake manifolds, mani and stacks like we have here but with no TGV flaps, and Ver 8's have the nicer one piece intake mani with absolutely nothing abstructing the air flow)
Please anyone feel free to add anything I forgot, or fix any inaccurate info I've listed.
Contrary to popular belief, these engines will smog in CA no problem. I literally just did it last week. All you'll need to pass CA smog with an EJ207 is an EJ205 5spd ECU(unless you're running a 4EAT), and a Cobb AccessPort with a map to kill the TGV codes and then for whatever else your setup consists of like injectors, carb legal intake, etc.
The complicated part is the harness and then tuning. If you want AVCS to function, you'll need to add about eight wires I believe it is to your stock harness, and then run the JDM ECU. IA Performance used to sell pre wired harnesses to take care of this issue, so you can check with them to see if they still do, otherwise there will be harness splicing involved. Problem with running the JDM ECU is it limits your choices for tuning as there are no Cobb AccessPorts for the JDM ECU's. EcuTek or Opensource are pretty much your only options, unless you don't care about the AVCS in which case you can run an EJ205 ECU with a Cobb AP and the only difference would be no AVCS.
Don't let any of this discourage you though. The EJ207 is an awesome platform, and I love rapping mine out to 8K every single day. You don't see these every day, and it always costs a little extra to set yourself aside from the rest of the crowd.
To Monster:
It looks like this is still drive by cable, is that correct? If the JDM engines have switched over to drive by wire, you might be able to run a US STi ECU, but only if the engine is drive by wire like the STi's are over here.
Hope some of this helps. Good luck with the sale, always cool to see another JDM engine pop up.

Thanks guys, Endless you are correct it is still drive by cable,
LOL Vtec, if you have a way to transport the motor, I will be fine with going with you to EQ to check out the motor. We can schedule a day.
The motor was tested and driven (yes i had someone personally drive it first) in japan before moving the whole car over here, in half cut form!
ATTN! Harness is available and still on the car; I will need a deposit before i take it out, I really do not want to take it all out to have someone bail on me THANKS! =D
feel free to ask more questions~!
