mm.. not to question you if you are for sure, but then why does the 332/32 bbk also come with a st-40 caliper via stoptech? i mean its a 4mm difference in width which is almost nothing when comparing the two. i would really assume the pistons have far more play to push in to acount for the 4mm in difference. the st-40 looks very much wide enough from i can see, but hey i can always be wrong..
im going to double check and verify this when it comes monday

new rotors 332/32. the rusty look you see is normal, i just washed off the grease that comes on the rotor which needs to be cleaned off before installation for proper break-in/bed-in and performance.
these are the used rotors 328/28

If you look closely at these two links, which are Stoptech's wheel fitment check templates, you can see that the 332x32 rotors don't sit in exactly the same place as the 328x28 rotors.

It's actually worse than I thought- I figured the 332 rotors just wouldn't fit inside a 328 caliper with fresh pads, but it would actually be offcenter as well.

hm interesting, well makes sense. so im assuming there are 2 versions of the st-40M caliper designed for each rotor setup. this may be a stupid question, but so then im assuming the piston travel MUST be equal on each side? im leaning toward a common sense yes haha..

I dunno why I didn't just do this in the first place...
I just went outside, popped new pads in my calipers, and measured the gap. Just a hair over 28mm. Clearly then, the ST-40 caliper comes in at least 2 widths, probably 4 or 5.
I think your guess is right about piston travel. Fully seated to fully extended is probably the same on all ST40 calipers.

just got off the phone with stoptech,
you WILL need the 332/32 bracket and hats to correctly use those rotors.
the significant benefit of the 32 over the 28 is the difference in width, where it will allow you to brake hard longer ie when approaching a corner at the track from cooling, heat dissipation,
thanks for the heads up kevin

Let me know what you want for the used 328's, I could use a spare set for rebuilds.
Bump for those pads, too - best DD pads I've tried yet, I run them on my STi and on the Stoptechs on my wagon.

cool, ill let everyone know that doesnt have their own offer a reasonable price tomorrow once i get some things straightened out with my little brake situation between a supplier haha..
sybir, have you tried the hawk hps or hp+ pads? if so how did the ultimates match up? just curious
bump for anyone with a 332/32 bbk or know someone who has one! whether suby or not!

I ran HP+ on a set of Wilwood 4-pots on the wagon, and the only thing they did better than the Ultimates was dust less........which isn't saying much if you've run Ultimates.
They squealed more, took a little bit to warm up before they'd really stop, etc. Fine for an aggressive pad, autoX, etc, but drove me nuts on the street. To be fair, they were in a set of crappy calipers, but the Ultimates I ran in the same caliper felt way better, just dusted like mothers. The Ceramics hit the sweet spot for me because they've got great feel, last a while, are quiet, and don't dust up much.
