Huh, that looks a lot different then my 07 STi head unit... Well, not a lot different, kinda similar, but are def different. I thought they were the same.
I do know that they are both great units and play mp3, wma, and regular CDs... Never had it hiccup or skip, ever.
Good luck

I upgraded my front speakers to some really high end kenwoods, the newest ones in their high end package, got a good deal from a local stereo shop... Best buy wanted $300 for two fronts, and I got both for $200 since there was some sale, so big score there. After I had them installed, my car felt like a different car... I LOVE music, so the upgrade made such a huge difference to me that it made driving just that much more enjoyable. Lots of bass, great treble, very deep and crisp sounds... So worth it, and soooo much better then the lousy stock speakers (still have the stock rears cuz rears do nothing).
But yeah, just the stock deck and upgraded front speakers and it's booming! Sounds much better then my old WRX which had a bunch of upgrades, including an amp, 4 speakers, etc... The problem was that I didn't get top notch stuff with my old WRX, which ended up costing me a lot of sound, I guess there's a reason that some speakers are $70, and others are $300, you get what you pay for! I didn't make the same mistake with my STi and I couldn't be any happier!
I can't imagine what it'd be like if I upgraded and got an amp, sub, etc! But for now, the simple speaker upgrade made the stock speakers look like absolute garbage! The speakers with the great 07 STi deck = a great winning combo. I wouldn't want a different deck really, this deck has everything I want and it looks stock which is important to me cuz I hate mismatched stereo equipment. The stock deck is nice enough to where it looks like it is aftermarket, but made to match exactly which is great!
Man, how much am I going to type in this response?! All I wanted to say was that the stock deck is great, and works really well with some high end front speakers that I bought, but instead I wrote a novel for you guys to read. My bad!
