It was 1 front shaft & 1 rear shaft for sure. If you wanted to take a look at the units I could show you exactly why the units would need to be replaced. Basically it looks like at some point the collar was locked down far too tight and pushed the shaft in thus causing the problem with the shafts needing replacement (i.e. internally there is a slight ripple which is not causing the strut to move up and down inside the shaft smoothly as it normally should).

There is another company on the East Coast as well that should be able to work on these ( http://www.ast-usa.com/ast_rebuildin...ng_service.php ), but Performance Shock is local (this is where I sent the coilovers and found out about the damage).
I didn't grab pricing from them though, but the coilover tube essentially would need to be replaced on two of the units. They only inspected 2 of the units, so the other 2 units could potentially still be in good shape. From what they were telling me it sounded like the rod and the other mechanical internal components seemed to be in good shape in the units that were disassembled. They would essentially need to replace the rubber components, fluid & tube for the 2 units that were inspected (from what I was shown). Other components seemed to be optional for replacement as while they may not necessarily look good, they still functioned (i.e. the height adjustment collar).
