Feeler/FS: 1971 Mercedes Benz 250 Sedan (inline 6 w/two 2bbl/AT)
*****SOLD*****
I know a subaru forum may be one of the last places I should post this but why not? Lol. I purchased this little gem from its original owner with the intentions of sprucing it up, lowering it, making the interior really nice and taking it to some shows and meets, but it seems like I just don't have the time to make it happen so I'm making it available for someone else that might be able to give it the attention it deserves. Not sure exactly how much to ask for it, so for now I'll entertain reasonable offers. Based on my findings online I have a pretty good idea and would definitely know if an offer was a lowball offer. Sale would need to be local (Sacramento, CA), for cash sale only. No checks, cashiers checks or money orders. Clean title in hand and is old enough that it doesn't need to be smogged (so it has a lot of potential if someone wanted to desecrate it's all original status and turn it into some crazy vintage sleeper, lol).
Here are the details:
1971 Mercedes Benz 250 Sedan, inline 6 cylinder motor with two 2bbl carburetors, automatic transmission, four wheel disc brakes. Recent tune-up, new radiator hoses, carburetor base gaskets recently replaced. The body of the car is in very good shape (NO cancer and very little rust), save for a few little door dings (normal), and a little spot on the left-rear quarter where the previous owner had a load of drill bits ding the panel from the inside when he went around a corner. This would require minimal body work. All chrome and trim still in good shape and intact, glass is good. Interior is in fairly good shape but does need the headliner near the back window tidied up. Car runs and drives but could probably use either some carb work or adjustment by someone that really knows what they are doing when it comes to carburetors. Good oil pressure, transmission recently serviced. I installed a cd player and replaced the old speakers but still have the original radio. Other than standard maintenance items this car is in it's original state and I even have original parts from when he had previous work done on the car, lol.
Here are a few pics. I'll get a few more and post them up soon. Again, reasonable offers will be considered and lowball offers will be ignored. Trades? No car trades, maybe a bike, depending on what it is and condition. I'd put this toward an STi drivetrain swap as well if someone was somehow able to make that work. Let me know if you have any questions and thanks for looking.

Thanks.
That was my intention too. I had a wild hair to set the motor and trans aside and do either an sr, 2jz or rb turbo motor/drivetrain swap, bag it and make the interior really nice but just don't have the time and money to take on another project so keeping it all stock in case someone wants to restore it.
