EDIT: SOLD! - PE1820 turbo

Hello all,

I have a Newer version PE1820 turbo that I am selling now. I bought it from another I-club member that bought it NEW and had it for 3 months. I have only had it on since the "suby track day" at Button Willow. So, about a month or so.

Anyway, it's a great turbo and is in great, strong working condition.
Looking for SOLD!!!

Let me know if you are interested.

thanks
-freddie

LOL, well that is true. I contacted Ex-ricer because he had an Older Version of the PE1820...which my friend Andy used to own. I always wanted that turbo from Andy but, I missed the chance to buy it, before he left out of state.

Anyway, heres the long and confusing story:

I needed a turbo BADLY for the "suby track day"...(my pe1818 had a 02 sensor get sucked into it) so I just bought an 1820 from another local Iclub member. After I bought it and installed it, Ex-ricer let me know he was selling his. So, I just got that one and put it on 2 weeks ago...ONLY because I always wanted that turbo since the time my other friend (Andy aka BADWRX) owned it.

So, I am selling the PE1820 that I bought for the "suby track day". As I stated, it works great and was AWESOME on the track...

Because I am weird like this...thats why I have spent and lost too much money on my car....those that know me will agree

Whats the difference between the "newer" and "older" version? I have no idea...I have heard that the "older" holds a Little more power....but I can't feel a difference. But then again maybe the "newer" version is better, and that's why they sell that one now. Either way, I have an extra, and it's for sale... As, far as mileage...not sure! I Just know the other guy bought it 3 month before I bought it....I am ONLY selling it because now I have 2 of them

Confused? I am... lol hahahaha j/k

Anyhow, if you want the turbo...let me know.

the newer one uses the vf30/34 comp housing and the older one has the vf22 style comp housing. The newer 1820's spool up quicker but dont have as much top end. Some might say its better for pump gas and the older style performs better on race gas.

Whats up Mario?? How you been?

Well they are both awesome turbos, but I like the 1820 better...being matched up with the 6 speed, this thing pulls in every gear...NO LAG ISSUES!!! Once I get into 4th-6th...then it REALLY pulls harder, as I hit 20-21 psi. You know thats where these turbo really come to life.

Pretty crazy on the freeway...and when you get that "from a roll" crap...lol

I am really happy with this set up and the tuning from I-speed. Cant wait to dyno to see some numbers.

Oh yeah, when I went to the track, it was awesome too, enough power in the turns, great power for exit and straight aways. Again, NO ISSUES with it!! IMHO

ps. forgot to add...this is all on 91 octane...wait til I get some race gas in her!!!

I am using PE650 injectors, I believe I am getting full boost between 4000-4200 RPMs. People always claim that there will be tons of lag with the PE turbos, but I havnt really seen to much to complain about...thats where down shifting and knowing your gears somes to play.

The 1818 is also a VERY nice turbo and might suit your needs. I have heard that 1818 spools a bit sooner, but the 1820 has WAY MORE on top end. The 1818 kinda gives up after a while, but also it is more of an autocross turbo, where as the 1820 is a drag turbo.

If you get RA gears or even a STi 6 speed, the 1820 would be a good match up, as you will go though your RPMs quicker and get into it's power ban sooner and really have NO issues....except that you might complain on how fast your car goes. lol

Nice to hear you're happy with the 1820. Keep me informed with your dyno numbers. You little devil... you are tempting me to replace my 1818

Decisions, decisions.... 1820 or 20G ?

So what is the difference between the newer 1820 and regular VF34? Internals?
