just curious... why isn't she stoked on it?

if you go to avic411 there is a way to get 3.0 on the F-Series units.

I'm in the Bay Area (Emeryville/Oakland). I'm not sure if 08+ WRX/STi requires a dash kit. However, I know for sure the unit will fit 07 and prior WRX/STi and other Subaru models perfectly w/o any dash kit.
