2010 STI Black hatch

****Totaled

I bought this one to replace my 04 hatch that the dealer damaged and had to buy from me. It was more than I wanted to spend, but I couldn't find a good condition GD hatch that was not overpriced. Only reason I am selling is I am looking to move to an EV for a daily as my commute is short. It already passed smog a few months back but needs to be smogged again to sell; no changes have been made so it will pass. 138xxx and is my daily, so it will continue to go up slightly. It has been a very solid daily driver and I will be sad to see it go. Price is based on the large number of repairs I have done to the car and the fact that there are extremely few of them up for sale. Posting on Subie forums first to give Subie people first shot at it. Willing meet up with serious buyers in the Bay Area.

Title in hand, no smoke/vape.

The bad

Driver's seat has a rip on bolster. You can't feel it while sitting; I had not gotten to replacing it yet. (came like that)
Passenger rear window was broken so it has no tint currently (came like that)

It will be a shame to let it go. Partial end of an era.

Trade for my 05 wagon? My wagon is pretty beat up at this point.

Edit: Plus cash obviously. I also have to check with the boss.

You still have that wagon? I thought you had sold it. I sold off all my parts from my wagon to other iClub peeps. I'm getting into a new car, not so much looking to add another project lol, but we can talk if the boss is on board.

160,000 miles! Still runs ok. Lots of smoke from leaking valve cover gaskets. It's due for a major service again. Needs the suspension redone from rallyX abuse. Still fun! I now mostly drive a 2018 Fiesta ST and a 2000 F250.

The boss was not happy about another car.

No worries. My 04 had ~140k when they damaged it and it was in decent shape and was definitely fun to drive.

This one had 125k when I bought it, but I bought it during Covid, so I really haven't put a ton of miles on it. Timing belt isn't mentioned because I wasn't the one who did it. Previous owner said it was done at 105k as required.

My boss is softening up to the idea of spending money on a good car. I will keep working on her.

Cool. It just had another oil leak. AVCS oil solenoid which is on the hot side and was dripping on the exhaust. Solenoid is $$$! All fixed now and Mann shielded it with gold foil.

I just did the control arms on my other car, so those low mileage arms from that car are now included with this one at no extra cost. These arms are from a 2011, so they have the much larger bushing as well, so they would be an upgrade from what the 2010 had. Price lowered.

Well, a guy backed into a fire hydrant and flooded our parking lot at work. Insurance already confirmed they are totaling it. There are a fair amount of parts on it so I might consider parting it out if the buy back is low enough.

The insurance offer was good. I will buy back and likely sell it as-is salvaged. AFAIK, the water was well below the ECU and did not get to the seats. Only the carpet was drenched. It started and drove fine, plenty of good parts on it that would not be affected at all by water. Motor and trans are good, suspension is good. I am acquiring a used carpet and will have it replaced or just include it if someone is interested. Will post up once I have the car back.
