2004 Forester XT -$8900 obo
Java Black Pearl, auto, 99,500 miles, clean interior, leather/cloth, new tires, current reg, hitch which I used for a bike rack, power windows, locks, cruise, 6 disc cd changer with Jazzy iphone/ipod mod, no mods to engine, suspension, exhaust.
Salvage title from un-repaired body damage to hood, roof, and both fenders caused by a falling tree branch, the car was not in an accident and runs like a top. Asking $8900 and open to offers.
* I realize salvage title cars are not for everyone. The right buyer for this car is likely someone who plans to keep it for a long time, doesn't care about cosmetics, or owns or knows someone who owns a body shop, might want to change the color, etc *
I'm in San Jose, prospective buyers are welcome and encouraged to have a pre-purchase inspection done and I'm happy to take it to the shop of your choice within a reasonable distance. No pics yet but will take someone tomorrow.

always wanted an xt lol but for a car that kbb values at $9300 fair value and is salvaged and never repaired so it has about 7k in damage still is nowhere near worth 9k, be lucky to get that if it was fixed, not to try an lowball u but i work at a bodyshop and know how stuff goes and the car just isnt worth that much at all so if u go down to around the 2k range lemme know tho...

My advice... get some photos up. Go get a quote on how much it's gonna cost. Factor the quote in with the value of the car. If you can't sell it for enough go buy yourself a clean Forester L and put the entire XT inside of it. LOL.

ok ray, ur hella funny lol
plain an simple a car is worth what its worth and u cant get full coverage on a salvaged car anymore to top it off so at that point if anything happens ur sol, so its a risk to own a salvaged car... kbb is what everyone uses to value cars so it is what it is, i made my offer, if the op isnt interested so be it but its gonna b pretty hard to get anything more...

2k isn't a reasonable offer, you can barely get a 1998 outback with blown head gaskets for that, if you wanted one : )
you can get full coverage on a salvage title car, i know because i have it
furthermore , the car insurance and body shop industry is such a frigging racket , it's a lot like the cost of medical care ($30 aspirins, etc) , and contributes to why we pay so much for both , if a branch falls on a perfectly good car and makes 6 or 7 small dents and abrasions it shouldn't total a $10k car, plain and simple
the reason a car is salvaged matters a lot imo , i've seen junkyards saw 2 cars in half , one wrecked in front and one wrecked in back, and then rivet and weld them together under the front seats to make 1 clear title car , this car has an otherwise clean history, it was just parked in the wrong place at the wrong time : ) you can't even tell unless your up close

Salvage titles generally sell for ~50% of the cars actual value when fixed. I own one. It varies but basically the damage has to be ~75% of the cars actual value to make it a salvage. The damage on your car looks minor but someone who wants to fix it will be spending a ton of money or their own labor if they own/work at a body shop.
You can PM me the lowest you're willing to go on it because I am looking for a fozzy. Maybe we can work something out. If not best of luck with the sale
