It's not too hard. Most difficult part is undoing the airbag clips. Second hard part is pulling your steering wheel off. Be sure to leave the nut on there a little so you don't smack yourself when it comes loose. Or use a steering wheel puller.

Clockspring - "Wiring up the airbag
I had the benefit of having the STi clockspring. This means I had an extra plug for the airbag that I could use. If you do not want to cut your plug, then you will need to order one. I don’t know the part number, so don’t ask.
Here is the back of the STi airbag as I had it. At a minimum you will need the plug coming out of the back of it.

great write up! I'm still not certain what part was the clockspring but that wire that he had to cut and splice from the back of the airbag will have to be ordered? At least I think so, is that it? Here is another picture of it separated.

it comes as pictured above. I'm still not certain what part is the clockspring even after reading that write up. This will bolt directly on to another subaru... I know that much.

There is no clockspring in the picture so I would guess it does not.
FYI subaru calls the clock spring a "steering roll connector". It is the piece that the wiper and turn signal stalks connect to.
