[Gauging Interest] Totalled 2003 MBP WRX with 26k original miles
I'm trying to see what the going rate for a totalled WRX is. The damage is on the front driver corner (driver fender, bumber, foglight,) and on the rear driver area (wheel, quarter panel, rear driver side door, no window on that door, and on the bumber). The car, in terms of motor and stuff, runs fine still. It was running like a champ before I got into the accident. I never really drove the car hard and it was broken in properly.
So here's the story on my car. I was coming back from Davis 3am in the morning and it was pouring extremely hard. About a quarter of a mile from the Carquinez bridge, there is a slight bend in the road. I thought I was gonna be fine, but apparently the car hydroplaned instead. The car does a 180 and impacts on the rear driver side first, then on the front driver corner, then finally comes to a stop almost perpendicular on the concrete wall.
I'm open to offers if anyone is interested. A complete sale of the car will only occur if it exceeds the buy back value from the insurance. This could be your chance to buy this car and take the motor and etc to do a motor swap!
I've never put any power mods on the car and it only has 26k original miles. The car pretty much sat in a garage while I was away at school in Berkeley. As of now, I have these mods on there that I'm trying to take off:
Eibach springs
KYB AGX
STI Shifter linkage + shifter
Kartboy shifter bushings
Whiteline front strut bar
Whiteline rear strut bar
Rear differential protector
STI scoop
Replica Zerosports intercooler splitter
Osram bulbs and yellow Rockblockers in the foglights (driver side is probably useless now)
When I get these parts off, expect a for sale thread with these and a couple of other parts.
Here's some pics:

You should buy it back from the insurance company anyway. They will give you KBB minus a certain amout for the car, and you get to keep the car
I bought back my totalled GSR for 2k, sold it for 4k

As of now, I'm gonna get like $21k for it. Someone told me that the buy back for this car will probably be like $5k. I still need to talk to my dad whose handling the insurance stuff while I'm at school and see what the buy back for the car is.

Sure, I guess. I'll keep everyone updated to see what happens with the car.

Sounds like a sweet deal. You could easily make over 5k if you buy it back and resell it

Replied to the pms. I'll keep everyone posted on the thread as soon as I find out more info about the car. Like I said, my dad is handling all the paper work, and his word goes if he wants to buy the car back or not.
Someone else told me that the car is worth $3500 - $4k. Is this the going rate for a totalled WRX?
