Let me be the first to welcome you to the Subie scene! There are alot of routes for upgrading your car for more power. I suggest going to the meets and checking out other ppls cars for starters.

Welcome to the Subaru scene. I don't recommend you turbo'ing your car. If you do want a little more power, best thing to do is to do a WRX swap. As for stuff that you can do to your car... there isn't much in terms of engine stuff. You can always do the suspension and brakes and what not.

Ya WRX swaps are common for GC's but if you have the money and a donor STi you can also do a STi swap. There's a person I know that's done it and drives it for Autocross. You should've posted this up in the HI section.

Easier in the sense that you aren't doing a WRX or STi swap. Probably harder than putting on a turbo kit. But like I said, turbo kits are probably not the way to go.

Easier. Not as difficult. You'll have a lot more power. Instead of 110 crank hp, you'll have 140ish if you get the 2.2L, or 165ish, if you get the 2.5L.

The typical stuff that you'll find on most upgraded turbo. Higher capacity fuel pump, bigger injectors, ECU tune, and the likes.
I'd recommend that you give a try to a few auto-x'es. You'll definitely enjoy that. Once you get a few events under your belt, you can talk to someone and see what you really want to do with the car. Develop yourself as a driver. That's probably more important than modding the car. Once you have a few events down, you can sit down with someone and figure out what you want to do to your car mod-wise. Keep in mind that you are modding your car for your preferences. Everyone is a little different. Start with things that you feel will help you the most and add them one at a time. Learn to drive a little, add a part, learn to drive some more with new part, add another part, repeat cycle. I think you'll benefit more in the long run if you invest your time in seat time as opposed to mods.
Here is the thread of my car project. As you can see, the car is an 2.2L NA. Doesn't make much power, but yeah... a fun project.

just thought of it after reading bout 3 pages of your thread, then got tired eyed haha..
im not an auto-x fan really... sorry guys.
but in all honesty, i'd rather go for performance and cosmetics.
i'd like to be noticed, remembered and one of a kind.
and still use my track ready car as my daily driver.
finished product: dropped on -not sure what suspension, but- work meister s1's; wrx or sti swap, cf hood & trunk, slight tint, exhaust, and a HOTT PINK PAINT JOB!!! yay-yah.
