today i visited xxtuning for the first time, and i have to say i am not impressed. i drove an hour and a half to get to this place for them to be no help at all to me.
the lead technician their is a moron, that doesnt want to know you unless you are paying him to do it, and half the staff their dont know what they are talking about when it comes to other subaru's like my friends legacy gt.
we wanted help on getting parts for his car, and they didnt help us much at all. and most of the parts we could find, they told us how much crap they were, and not to buy them.
i would deffinately say i had a bad experience the first time i went, and i believe they have lost a potential customer...

You could try
www.adrenalinmotorsport.com in auburn, ma
- that's where the dyno days are held up - Authorized dealer for Turbo XS, Vishnu, etc - been in the subaru business for 2 years now.

I know this really doesnt matter but i figure i would give my opinion on this matter.. I been reading this forum for quite sometime now, and unfortunatly this has to be my first post, even had to register for this.
I deal with XX Tuning alot for my parts, spent way too much money there and after speaking to other owners I never really heard anyone have anything too negative to say (except for parts being backordered, which is always my case.)
I called them just a while ago to check on my part status and told them about this post and Danny the shop owner laughed and told me what went down when you came to the shop..
#1.. You asked them about the HKS TI cat-back exahust, and they on good faith told you that they have problems with the flex section burning out, but yet they still gave you the price for it.
#2.. as for your buddy with the legacy, i heard that they gave him pricing on Borla headers, and pricing on a stomung exhaust..
So it looks like all your questions were anwsered, and advice giving about the HKS TI cat-back, on top of that I heard you even bought a HKS BOV.. So how can you still make those comments????
On top of that, where else in CT can you go and see sooo many aftermarket suabru parts in stock.
I dunno, there's always two sides to a story.. no matter what I still recommend them.

Hah, Andyscoop, looks like u were caught out. I have been going to Body Dynamics (xxtuning) ever since i got my WRX and hve spent over $5 Gs there and has been worth every penny. Every1 is entitled to their own opinion, but atleast try to justify ur opinion instead of talkin out ur a**. Quite frankly, I think someone might have put u up to posting this false info b/c u r so off in ur post and is so unjustifiable. I also think that if u hated the place so damn much, ya shouldn't bought somehting there at all. And the top techinition there doesn't know anything or only wants to talk to u if u have the $ to do it... That is the biggest joke I've heard. I was broke for a good 4 months and didn't spend a penny there but yet Danny still invited me up to his little cook-outs and car shows and what not.
Moral of the story is I drive an Hour to get there and now have some friends that do the same because they like the place so much. I would suggest any1 reading Andyscoop's post to disregard his foolish comments. Thanx

look guys, im sorry if i came across as being an a** on this thread, but this was my first time at the store, and i didnt have the best of luck. i guess a lot of you guys go there and have good service and i respect that, the only thing that majorly pissed me off about the place was when my friend asked about pointers for installing his clutch, which we have never done on a subaru before, and all the tech could say was " a clutch? already?". which wasnt really the answer we were looking for.
let me set some things straight..
i thing xxtuning is awsome to be carrying such a variety of wrx parts, and the owner of the store WAS very helpful to me. heck, he even warmed his car up just so i could hear the exhaust. i was in a very bad mood that day, my mother has back problems, and the only reason she came was to see if they had stuff for my car she could get for christmas, because she hates shopping online (which is why we baught the bov).
As for the guy that sold the bov to me, you were very helpful too, and i would like to apologize if my e-mail was harsh.
in closing i would like to say, my first post was a bit uncalled for, and i wasnt put up to it, it just peed both my friends, and my mother off that we drove all that way just to buy a bov for my wrx and couldnt get any help for my friends cases.
you guys have not lost my business, and i should be visiting you guys soon after tax returns to buy that exhaust you showed me.
sorry guys, wont happen again..

...a man
It takes a real man to apologize like that.
It's the season to go a little nuts. I flipped out at
UNO (pizza/steak place) because I waited 35 mins
for a Pizza & Fries (for take out) and another 10 mins
for the girl to hand it to me so I flipped and was like,
can I have the pizza before it gets even more cold.
So she took the customer on the other side of the
window and I was like "this is f'n ridiculous, you can
eat it yourself!" and walked out. (i think I had the
right to do that) but that's not my normal self.
Anyway...sounds like a good apology.

Andy,
Glad u apologized. U realized that u were wrong and did the right thing. Yea man, I saw u in that other thread about gettin a club or somethin started for peeps around Dabury. It seems like a cool idea. And xxtuning will hook us up with what we need. Talk to ya soon....

i stopped into xxtuning on tomctwrx's suggestion and i was pretty impressed. the guys there seemed pretty friendly and helpful and busy. im probably going to get an alarm installed by them in the near future ..
on another note - i have found another shop in norwalk, ct .. i think its called Speed Sport Tuning .. its on Post Rd about a mile north of Stew Leonards. they have an AWD dyno and had tons of parts in stock .. i think they have an official grand opening day on the 11th .. the shop used to deal mainly in porsche/audi, i saw their name in a MRT ad i think in grass roots or sport compact .. anyone in the area should check it out!!
they have a website but i see no wrx content (yet) ..

Hey,
Yeah, I checked out that place in Norwalk a few weeks back with my friend who has a VW 1.8T. I was impressed with the Porsches that they had there. Very nice. I talked to a guy there about my WRX and what I had done to it. He starts telling me that "Oh the, the Unichip isn't good for my car" and that they had gotten in touch with this place in England that has cracked some code for car computers and they ar esending that technology to them. And that this was the 1st time in 20 years that the code has been cracked. He also told me that I should have a MRT front mount intercooler installed on my Rex and that it would cost me $2000 installed. After hearing this, I just calmly walked out in discust. This guy was a joke.
I'll admit that they know what they are talking about when it comes to Porsch, but they are extremely over-priced and just want to rip you off when it comes to anything else. He actually told me that I might as well just throw my chip away!! Come on now! Needless to say, I will never be going there again, unless of coarse, I want a good laugh. :-P

XXtuning gets a thumbs up from us. They are always friendly and willing to talk to customers.
They did a good job installing the exhaust on our Focus, and we are very particular about that car.
A side note about www.adrenalinmotorsport.com in auburn, ma.
Word on the VW board is that they are done. Someone said the doors were locked and they had to sell everything off.
Dunno if this is true or not, I never dealt with them.

the place in norwalk isnt actually officially open - when i was there last week the display cases were still empty and the walls barely covered with product. what they did have in stock seemed like the complete MRT Performance catalog which is STi, Whiteline, ECUtek and some other cool stuff .. hopefully on the 11th the inventory is up a bit. the few things i asked for prices on werent badly priced either, not as low as vendors online but instant gratification is always worth a few bucks ..
The day i went into speedsport i had been looking online for a certain part and all the shops i had dealt with in the past were out of stock and seeing it on the wall made me think it was a good shop, especially since its 5 miles from my house and they have an awd dyno. i found they do have their own url - http://speedsporttechnik.net/
every time i had been to pruven or modern i was underimpressed by their stock (never seen any wrx product on the shelves there, but havent been in quite a while..) and the sales people there were far from knowledgeable ..
its always cool to have options. actually another store i really liked was fizz down in bayside ny over the whitestone bridge (i dont think they do installs though). http://www.fizzautosports.com/
