75mph in 55mph on RT8 in CT!

On saturday, I was cruising on Route 8 with my top down. I was cruising side by side with a Nissan Frontier for literally about 10 seconds and I was pulled over by a state trooper. (funny how I get pulled over instead of the truck considering we were going the exact speed). Long story short, I was issued a 296 dollar ticket which includes the ticket for speeding and for having a out of date insurance card .(93 dollar ticket).....What should I do? Should I fight it? Should I hire a lawyer?

p.s. The myth about tickets being nalied due to some things that are written incorectly on the ticket; is it true? The cop wrote down WHITE for race...Im asian.lol.

you could try the keeping pace with traffic angle . . . and apologize and promise not to speed ever again, they might reduce the fine, or drop the ins ticket. just make sure you have valid un-expired insurance when you go to court.

I have something nice to say.

It sure would be nice if people took responsibility for their actions.

agreed, but $300 is a pretty good chunk of change, and you can take responsibility without going broke.

Can you? It was determined that slaps on wrists (or no slapping at all) doesn't teach kids these days anything other than they can't be punished for their improper actions.

You were caught speeding. You are being punished because of it. If it didn't hit your wallet, how would you learn? By the cop saying 'please don't speed?'. They tried that. Then they initiated fines.

Be happy that the fine isn't like in Finland where it's a percentage of your income for every mph over.

eh, I've gotten pulled over before, did this thing where you bring in canned food and the citation goes away, I no longer speed, because fines scare me.
