It does get lonely without any other fast subaru folks around. Mostly see legacy outback wagons with ski racks on them around me. Oh well, just have to blast by them. There should be a get together next fall for northwood subarus during the Houghton SCCA Rally . Any Takers for a day of Touring and shooting the bull ??!?

my in-laws live in Three Lakes; i love having the Scooby up there when there's a fresh snow; the Nicolet roads don't get plowed and there's not enough traffic on them to pack the snow into ice for a while, so it's a great place to get in some AWD driving fun. I was up there this Christmas but unfortunately only about an inch of snow.

Hey Drover!!
We still dont have much snow but in the three lakes area the back roads are ice snow covered. Still too gun shy to put the car into a total WRC power slide. Let me know if you come up north some time. There are lots of great tarmac to drive !!!

I have a cabin on Long Lake, right between Minocqua and Lake Tomahawk. I have a blast up there on all the back roads just cruising around. I have been going up there since the age of 8 and have only seen a handful of ploice offers on those back roads, now in the town of Minocqua is a different story... I am up there quite frequently in the summer so if you ever see a MY02 WR Blue WRX with 18" Gold Speedlines, its most likely me.

my family has a cabin on crab lake, north of boulder junction. I live in milwaukee, and have never taken my wrx up there, but i bet it would be fun, winding roads, and no police make for good fun. Plus i bet you could give the snowmobiles a run for the money

Hey, just registered. Been looking for a Suby forum =p
As the location states, I'm down in Racine. Kinda boring sometimes but oh well
Looking forward to chilling here for a while. Got some questions I've been looking for answers to also - which I'm sure I could be helped with here.
