Unhappy OT: Serious Post; Helping out my dad...

As with millions of people in the US, they have lost their jobs. Some have found good work, some just took what came their way, and the majority still haven't found anything.

This is the case with my father. My dad's been out of the job since June of '02. My dad's got the skills to be in place for a long time. It was just unfortunate, that the last place he worked for was basically run by a racist **** and his disrespectful son. To the point, where this 21 yr. old son/quasi President of the company call my dad an "*******" in front of his face, because my dad had a question about a project. We all know that with any parent (Asian at that) it's all about respect...right? So, my dad didn't want to be there, I know we can bite the bullet, cuz we're young, but our parents don't have to stand for that.

Anyhow, it's getting real difficult for my parents, and now my fiancee and I. We're paying 2 mortgages. Ours and now the majority of theirs. At the same time, saving for our wedding this August.

The help I need is this: If any of you work at a 1) Manufacturing plant, 2) Tool and Die, 3) Mold Making and Injection Molding company...please keep your eyes and ears open. My dad's got more experience than most of us have had life on this earth. And he's passionate at what he does. He's Mold-Maker, Plastics Engineer, Tool-n-Die, CNC...and anything else associated...

Thanks peeps,

Joe | Evanston, IL | '02 WRB WRX

Update...

I talked to my dad last night at a family party...and he said, once the war ended, the company (which he was holding out for) called him in for some projects. He told them "You know, I'm on my last month of unemployment", and they responded, "Willie, don't worry, we'll talk."

So things are looking a little better. Hopefully, it'll last for a while. He's been experiencing cabin fever.

Thanks all,

Joe
