No thanks. I already spent $75 changing out the shifter/brake lever combo's last month. I don't want to have to buy new shifters to go with the hydraulic brake levers.

Plus I already have a whole host of things to buy:

1) Rear brake adapter
2) Forks
3) Headset
4) Stem
5) Brakes

If I could just decide between the Manitou R7's, Rockshox Reba's, and Magura Menja's I would be able to pull the trigger.

Looks like a good start Matt.

How did you like your tires?

Thanks The tires packed up a bit in the thick mud but in mud that was a bit wetter they were pretty good. Dry traction was unbelievable

Sorry about your bike, Mike. Did you take apart the rear shock yet?

Todays ride was pretty good. We only rode about 10 miles, and mostly opted for climbing as opposed to any descents. We also hiked the hidden falls trail, which, for how hard the hike was (since we were carrying our bikes), it was pretty lame. Trails were mostly dry and pretty empty though, which was cool. We only ran in to a few hikers, not a single horse. We thought that was odd considering all the horses that set out right before we left - is there some new area of the park that we don't know about?

Shock is off the bike. I'll call Cane Creek tomorrow morning for a replacement. It's cool that they offer $100 off their shock if you trade in your old one (from any manufacturer). But even at that, it's a $225 hit.

New shock ordered. They only do custom builds on Wednesdays, so I doubt it will be here for this coming weekend. I did have it shipped 2 day, so at least it will be here by the following weekend.

Rear disc brake adapter ordered too! I'll probably order up the brakes and other components this afternoon. I still need to decide on a fork though. There's a new bike shop here in Folsom that's right across the street from Intel so maybe I'll take a stroll at lunch.

I was there about every time I went to Intel last year . Nice guys and not a bad little shop.

Good luck with your bike Mike. Is the Cane Creek the only shock that would work on you bike?
