You missed a good ride Lance.

I'm off all next week, so if you're feeling better and have some free time, we should go ride.

Sounds like fun...I'd be willing to check it out. Don't know about ridding in the dead of summer though...

egan - I might be able to ride on Tuesday (12/26). If we ride, what time do you want to meet?

Dude, today was a sweet day to ride. It was way warmer than the last time we rode FHDL. I went up with two guys from mtbr, one was 60 and one was 18. The 60 year old guy was fast . Both were really cool though and we had a pretty good ride. We rode FHDL clockwise, which, I must say, is for the lose. There are two benefits to riding it that way:
  1. If you like to climb, this is almost entirely uphill. It will definitely make you stronger. This is the first time in a year that I've started to bonk at the end
  2. That really nasty, rocky climb at ~ mile 3 if you're going counter-clockwise is WAY easier to climb up the other side. However, going down the rocky side is nowhere near as fun as going down the easy-to-climb side

I did have fun though, and the guy showed me where connector trail was so that's cool. I want to ride it in the near future.

A few pics from today:

lol, well, honestly, the 60 year old guy was in pretty kick *** shape. Mike could probably hang with him on the climbs, and I was sort of keeping up, but he was definitely climbing better than me. On the downhills though, I was quite a bit faster. I felt bad because I'd keep catching up to the front person, descending from upper lot down the single track at drivers flat road, they let me go first and I completed it probably a good 20 seconds ahead. That was neat :wiggle:

I want to ride on Tuesday. If you're down for it, we can ride. I'd be interested in riding divide loop (the PROPER direction) with you guys, or we could even do Hidden Falls again. I really liked it there.

Doing good. I don't know if it's my mind playing tricks on me or something but I feel like I'm climbing stronger with this setup. I was having an issue with my front derailleur not shifting down in to the smallest ring but I played with it a bit this afternoon and I think I have that problem sorted. It's hard climbing those hills on divide loop in the middle ring

I hear you. It's not necessarily that way where I work, but everyone in my group (mysefl included) has a work ethic that brings them in when they're sick as a dog. Makes it fun when you're trying to not get sick.

Anyway, my comment on that was more in jest than anything else . You around next weekend?
