Thanks. I know the area from driving to Auburn via 49. I'm pretty out of shape and may need to take it easy on anything very technical for a while but I may just take you up on the invite. Thursday is a no go for me, out of town for turkey day, but maybe the next weekend...

Question for you dudes:
It seems that the main trails are clementine loop, FHDL, Quarry (Western States) and Olmstead (Cool). There must be others..right? Or is that it in the area? Are there maybe more farther out in to Foresthill?

Salam Falls (couple of starting points and possible loops) and what about that one I e-mailed you on...in the Auburn area I think??
How is Olmstead compaired to FHDL and Clementine?
Off Clementine we can do the connector over to FHDL and then do FHDL and back to Culvert. Or the other climb on the west side of the river and cross over Foresthill Bridge and then do some of the other trails which I think connect back to Culvert. Just sounds like a lot of climbing...

The only thing I dislike about Olmstead is the damn horse traffic. Nothing quite like rounding a corner at speed and having two brokeback *******s start screaming at you for scaring Mr. Ed. Also, they ride their animals all winter and destroy the trail with the horses' hooves so you get a ton of washout and ruts up the ***. I remember last time we rode Olmstead, a huge section that only months prior had been dirt was washed out all the way down to rock :\.

We should also go hit Rockville in Fairfield some day. It's technical, but a lot of fun.
And I need to organize a trip out to Mt. Tam in Marin sometime. I've got a nice little 15 mile loop I came up with, including a rest stop by a lake to watch female joggers bounce by.

I'd definitely be down to do rockville and tam. I've heard they're both awesome.

by Supervisor Robert Weygandt as the "crown jewel" of the county's
award-winning Placer Legacy program created by the Board of
Supervisors about eight years ago.
