Yep, it was a fun ride. It was good to see Lance. Come ride with us sometime. We miss not having you there.

No pics from todays ride, but yesterday was fun on the lake. My wife and I paddled almost up to Negro Bar (from CSUS Aquatic Center). Lake is low. Made for some islands though and we had a nice quiet lunch in the middle of the lake.

Good to see you guys too...Nice meeting Bart; seems like a cool guy. You guys on these extended rides...I can't hang...and I don't want to hold you guys up...cuz I know how that feels. 18's about my max on a good day. Maybe I'll try busting out the HT and see if I can hang any better...

I went down hard on Connector...lucky my truck was at fuel break and I could clean myself up before hitting culvert/confluence. It happened on the way back right before the lake overlook. Just a nice flowy section...and yes I was bombing it, looking ahead, leaning into the turns...just got on some hard loose leafy section and bam! connected my left side with Connector trail...It stings like a MF right now...such is the life of the mtbr' I guess

Connector can get you. I've almost wrecked a few times there. You get moving on that first section and the slippery bits can catch you off guard.

For the Sunday ride, we set out to do the big mileage but it got shortened a bit. Bert wanted to get home early, and I had a lot of homework stuff so I didn't fight it. We ended up doing connector, FDLT all the way around to the cut off on the other side, crossed the rode, then road the west side backwards and did the overlook. Ended up being 18 miles. A decent amount of climbing but was fun.

I think I like riding FDLT clockwise better than counter-clockwise

I've never ridden it 'backwards'. I do get frustrated when I'm trying to bomb down the hills and people are riding it backwards.

Is anyone riding this week or weekend? I haven't ridden in over a week and need to get one in before D-Ville.

Actually people riding it 'backwards' **** me off too. I think when I ride it that direction I'll start really early so I avoid most of the traffic on the trail.

I would like to ride this weekend. I need to see what is going on though - I have to get a fairly large assignment completed and get ready for some work stuff :\

I'm sorry about the crash Lance. Connector was one of my bad crashes last year. I think I just wasn't concentrating enough and BANG!

I don't know my schedule yet, but I plan on riding at least one day this weekend.

Thanks guys...I'm getting plenty of TLC from the wife...even though she's constantly shaking her head at me in the same breath...

Taking a break this weekend...may try and get a ride in mid-week next week just to work out the bugs before D-Ville on the 11th

Looks like we have 6 confirmed riders and still a few tentative...could be a good turn out!

Just tell her that we men folk like to break ourselves once in a while. It makes us tougher in the long run.

Did a quick loop on Clementine after work today. Haven't ridden in over a week, so it hurt a bit. Was glad to be able to finish in under an hour.

Man the weather is nice. Lame that it's getting darker earlier, but the weather kicks butt. If anyone is riding mid-week next week, I'd like to join...

With classes and this project at work, I have no time mid-week to make it out for a mountain bike ride.

Am planning to ride Sunday though. Connector + FDLT around 8?

Roger on Sunday at 8 for Connector and FHLT. We are doing the whole Connector this time right?

I hope to ride during the week next week. What day were you thinking?

After the rain, the dust will be gone for a while. I'm looking forward to riding Olmstead again with other people without choking to death on the dust.

I'll get back to you guys to see if I can make the Sunday AM ride. It's not going to be raining on Sunday is it? If it doesn't rain too much on Saturday, the Sunday ride should be great.

Wednesday or Thursday works best for me mid-week. Although Thursday is bad for Lowball I think. So maybe Wednesday.
