It was cool. I don't think shuttling is really my deal though. I like riding for longer and doing the XC stuff - up the hills, down the hills, etc. One thing I learned, or at least realized, is how drastic the difference in frame geometry and ground clearance is when going downhill and over stuff. For example, on the confluence trail, I rode up on this boulder that was a few feet high, then off the other side. I'd be needing new chain rings, and probably a new helmet and a shoulder surgery if I tried that on the epic.
I need to talk with some people about an all-mountain-y kind of bike, like the Rize for example, to see how its geometry and ground clearance would compare to the epic. I'd like a bike that can climb very well, fast on the flats and efficient on pedaling like my epic, but that I can also get down hill with a bit more confidence and go over big fun obstacles like I was on the prophet. Not sure the Rize is that bike, but it seems like competitor bikes, like the Stump Jumper (which I don't like) fit that bill pretty well.

I can make it on Sunday...still haven't heard back from Don...which is strange. Regardless I need to make a reservation with one of the two shuttle companies. Are you confirmed for 9am still?

I got an email from Bert saying he wants to do SF at 8:30. Maybe we can co-ordinate and ride together.
One problem for me. I sprained my ankle this morning somehow. I can barely walk much less be able to ride like this. I hope it's ok by tomorrow because I really want to ride.

Trek Fuel EX9 would be another great choice.
