looks like i can see light at the end of the tunnel...

got the new FSA SS cranks installed (seksy external bearings FTW!) and took the frame to the shop to have them press in the new headset...
crank bros mallets are on the way.
so all that's left is need to hook up the bars, brakes, chain and mount the front wheel at lunch today and maybe take it for a spin.

and although sybir came through with the seat post, stupid Fetish Cycles couldn't even get the post diameter right, so i've got a 30.9 post in a 31.6 frame!!! x elebenty!

i should have known when he told me that the front derailiuer diameter was 34.9 that the post was a 31.6, not a 30.9.

good news is the bike feels considerably lighter than the Novara frame...at least a few lbs on the bicep scale.

getting 'sited!!!

wtf, pozzi, that blows. You running a shim for now?

I need to track down a set of cranks for the Prophet. My boss keeps saying "run a single" but I think I'm going to go triple.

they don't make a 5mm shim (well actually 2.5mm).

the only shims i can find would be for my 27.2mm post off the Novara.

I'll prolly just break down and buy a 31.6 cus i think the 27.2 will look like a toothpick coming out of the frame.

the frame company isn't known for their overwhelming ability to service their customers.
i emailed them for almost 2 months requesting the frame dimensions since they weren't online and never got a response. i eventually called them and the kid that answered the phone gave them all to me verbally, but he was doing it from memory and you could tell he wasn't really sure on a few of them. but he did get the 68mm BB right... guess a 50/50 chance was close enough.

i went single on this frame just for the fun of it...hopefully i don't go all weird and sell my F/S XC bike for some 29'er Karate Monkey.

I was going to ride Labor Day, but ended up flying instead. I did ride FH Conn & Loop today. I was suppose to ride with Bert but he didn't want to ride in the smoke. It turned out that I only had some light smoke in the beginning and again at the end. Most of the ride was smoke free. Now that I'm home, it's really smoky.

I am going up to South Lake Tahoe for a week starting tomorrow (Friday). If any of you head up that way during that time period and want to ride, let me know. We can meet up and ride. I plan on doing Mr. Toads and Flume trails sometime during the week. I'm not sure what else yet. Both my wife and I will have our bikes.

You can call me on my cell at 530-903-0469 or email me at randybullard@wildblue.net. I do not get cell service at home so you will have to wait until we are on the road. We are suppose to have net connection, so I will probably check my email once a day.

Well.....I've decided to take an Aerobics class as Sac State to loose some 40lbs of un-needed and very undesirable fat. I'm tired of bring up the tail end of our rides and having you guys wait for me.

Another bonus is that I'm the only guy in a class full of scantilly clad girls, with only a couple heffers mixed in....my wife's already showing signs of being jealous & wants to sit in the class to keep an eye on me . I told her as long as she keeps me happy, she has nothing to worry about.

I'm hoping that I am in peak shape by the time you get back on 2 knobby tires again Matt.

Randy, have fun up at the lake.

I won't be able to ride much this fall as I have some really tuff engineering classes (Statics, Materials, Circuits, & Diff Equations), so the next 15 weekends look to be full & dull.

Cheers

EddyL.

I am riding Sunday morning somewhere. Post up what time you plan to be there, maybe I'll meet you.

I also decided on getting a trailer hitch for my STi rather than opting for a roof rack. I've got my eye on the Yakima hitch racks.. Here's an idea I was looking at: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...ighlight=hitch

I had a good ride last night...

I rode from the Folsom foot bridge to the usual Granite Bay peninsula 1/2 way point. I decided to take a break at the last parking lot just before the Granite Bay climb (after fire roads).

To my surprise there was a topless chick wearing a bikini bottom getting photographed by some dude. So of course I stopped and watched while she was on all 4's on a park bench showing off her ****.

People do crazy **** when they think no one else is around.

These kinds of things are why you should always ride with a camera, sir.
