I put up a page with all the pics from my leg.
I added three pics today - one of my convertible cast, one of my wounds and one of a get well card I received.

For some reason I didn't see this earlier. Saturday is fine. I don't care that much what we do for a ride. I would say not Olmstead because it's a dust bowl right now. Do you guys want to do FHL & Connector or something like Downieville?
I've never done Downieville, so I don't know what our options are there.

I definitely do. Being a geek, all the data it pulls is sweet. There is software that comes with it that you use to get the data down - you don't have to upload it to the internet like I usually do. Once you have the data in the software, you can save your rides as "routes", put them back on the GPS, then load it up at the start of the ride and race yourself from the last time you rode. That part is pretty cool. You can also download other peoples rides and save them as tracks, then load them up when you're doing a new ride so that you stay on course.
You can also really break it down by reviewing the data up close. For example, last night I determined that I was going 22mph when I went off the jump on HITG (just before breaking my leg), and I was going 18mph when I landed. Today I might look at it to figure out just how far I flew .
I really dig it. One thing you might be interested in with Mikes GPS is that his more suited to driving and you can cycling attachments for it. For someone like you that regularly drives cross country, the navigation functionality of that unit might be very attractive.

the EGDE does come w/ more bike specific settings though.
if i was to buy one again, i'd get the Edge but I picked up mine at the REI used gear sale about a year ago for $45. was DOA and Garmin replaced it free of charge with a brand new in the box replacement.
Garmin ROX!
