I saw one damn suby in all of Italy. A Legacy parked on the street in Pisa. It had Italian plates so there must be others.

Put me down for one, please. It can be my beater commuter car so I don't have to drive my suby.

My roll has now ended. The rest of the 200+ pictures are landmarks, chruches, towers, streets, etc.

The Smart cars have some tiny engine which I think is up front. I even saw a couple of diesel versions. MOst of the cars in Italy are small because the streets are narrow and parking is at a premium. I'd say 1 in 12 or 15 cars was one of those Smart cars. They are made by different manufacturers and I even saw some with Mercedes logos on them. I saw a lot of minis, VW Golfs, Fiats, Lancias, Ford Focus, and Opels. The PT Cruiser is a big hit over there too.

The Smarts are 3 cyl turbo RR cars The whole drivetrain sits under the trunk floor.

When I was in Santa Cruz, one of the local businessmen had a Smart here somehow, for running around town. Cool little car.

Alan, next time you buy a Bentley, wanna grab a Leg Turbo for me while you're at it? Thanks

It's sobering to think that the *luxury tax* on that car is more than any of our cars cost new......
