on another topic... at last Saturday's meet there was some discussion about loose drivers seats. What was the cause, and what was the fix? what i caught was that it has to do with the recliner.
There's two issues - I had one where my seat would rock and move during normal driving. That turned out to be a bolt in the track:

There also appears to be another issue with some creaking noises from the seat - sounds like an old sofa. Dan (DZ) had this problem and said it's something to do with the reclining mechanism. I'm going to take mine in this weekend for an oil change and I'll probably make them look at the seat too.

yeah, I heard something about rails for the recliner spreading apart and needing to be pushed back together. i've already fixed that bolt problem.

how did you get the plastic off the side of your seat? i've spent maybe 5 minutes on it and didn't really see an obvious way to do it.

It's been a while since I did it, but you have to take the handle cover for the recline adjustment and pop it off. There is a screw behind it. Then pull the handle cover off the height adjustment, then pop the handle covers for the trunk and gas, then pop the whole plastic assembly and there's another screw under there. Now the shroud should slide right off.

RussB,

My passenger seat came loose. It may have been because of two reasons...1) power amp installed under seat and the installer of said amp may not have tightened the seat back down enough, and 2) excessive track days with increased car vibration.

Solution was to have Nate tighten the seat when I came by the shop.

Matt had also mentioned the fix listed above but I never tried to fix it...to lazy I guess. Anyway it's all good now no noisy rattling seat.
