So I'm a little confused between this and the newer thread about meeting at a pizza place called BJ's. Where is everyone going to be? I'd rather keep it at the usual meeting spot, especially considering the parking is better. If we are still meeting in the Raley's parking lot near Border's, I would love to attend another meet. I'll bring my daily driver this time. It's a (at this time rather dirty) red Miata. Yes, I have two -- but this one's just a street car.

As for the comments that came in about folks street racing, etc.. Just because the other folks are doing it doesn't mean you are obligated to do the same. Practice a little self restraint at let somebody else get the ticket. Besides, with the money you'll save on not getting a ticket, you can afford to go out to a real racetrack and run around like maniacs all day. And, as a bonus, the track won't impound your car.

the meet will still be on as usual at the normal spot, but i think that the majority of the people are going to be meeting over by BJs tonight at 5. this is only for tonight, it's not a permanent move or anything. and it's going to be way more than just the i-club people. i think that if the i-club people get bored at this meet, we might head to the normal spot later on just to hang out.

Ricer? What kind of 'ricer'? When I think rice I think the kids with Hondas with stuff like neon washer nozzles, etc.. How come your car isn't insured? Bummer.

Speaking of ricer . . . here's a quick funny. While at Reno-Fernley Raceway last year, toward the end of the day, a Miata spun out in turn 15. A few minutes later, ANOTHER Miata did the same thing, same turn. About ten minutes later, I spun MY Miata racecar out in the same turn. I asked the track personnel to have a look and see if anyone might have leaked anything, as we hadn't had any problems all day there, and I almost never spin my racecar out. Guess what they told me? Something like, "Well, there's no oil or antifreeze, but we did find a bunch of rice scattered across the track." It's a good thing I have a sense of humor.

My car isn't insured because of a point on my license. If I wait until next week, the point goes away as it will have been 3 years since. I'll wait a couple weeks to save me about 400 bucks.
