Yeah I never thought of that one. Can they do that??? I know they shave tires but just one to match the other three???? Huh...

Thanks for the help guys. The Azeni's seem to be out due to the fact that they heat up pretty quick and get greasy...from what I've been told anyway. The Kumho MX's seem to be a good option. I know Steve has them but has anyone else tried them?

Oh and RSA WRX...I wasn't really asking you directly but thanks for the input! Oh, and do I know you from somewhere????

2nd post.

Lance, I ran Azenis for my first 3 track days and they did fine. Of course I was even more of a puss back then so I may not have been pushing as hard as you do.

Lance: DON'T get the Dunlop FM901. They're harsh and loud. They grip ok but they're a pain in the *** day to day. I actually like the KDs - are they not offered anymore?

Lance,

Make sure you take the source into consideration. I would never take tire advice from an old lady that drives a school bus...

I would go with S03's if you want a track/street tire. If you want a tire you will use at the track only but can drive to the track on (DOT approved) look in to the Yokahama A032Rs.

If I remember right, you have track wheels but I could be wrong.

The A032Rs are the most aggressive tire I have used - I had 2 track events and daily drove them for about 5.5K miles until they were bald. They had great grip on the track but made a lot of noise and picked up every pebble and flung them into the wheel wells on the street.

I'm not the only one who feels this way..

I bought a pair of this tire in the summer of 2002. I thought it was a good price on some good tires..wrong! the road noise is horrible. Sounds like your car about to fall apart -- Review Submitted 2004-08-03
Although they seem to be wearing better than past sets of Dunlop 8k & 9k, they are just unreal... as in unacceptably loud. Its a crime that they sound like 33" Mudderz. I read the reviews, but having happily owned Dunlops 8k, 9k, & 5k in the past, I decided to give the 901s a go. Never again... even if they were free. Back to the 9k. -- Review Submitted 2004-07-06
Ive had these over a year doing about 60/40 highway to city driving ratio. Good dry grip level and cornering stability. Much stiffer sidewall than my previous tires (nankang ns-1), with a nice lip protection for my wheels. Grip in the wet could be (and should be) better. The only serious drawback that will keep me from buying these again is their high noise level. The drone from the tires is hard to put up with on the highway, even with the radio blasting

Bingo....

I thought very carefully about what word to use above because I wanted to make sure the "short bus" driver would get the point.

Besides, I doubt Lance is worried about tire noise. He could have 4 flats and a mariachi band in the back of his wagon and not be able to hear any of it over the sound of the exhaust...
