Autowest had a whole lot of pretty '05 STI's today when i had my car in service. they also have a very lightly used '04. it's WRB, 13,000 miles, and dunlop FM901 tires. anyone know anything about this car? i'm semi considering taking the plunge on this because i'm sure the price could come down quite a bit on what they're advertising it at, but am kind of concerned as to why someone would trade in a car with only 13,000 miles.

I would insist on an extended warranty for that car since you have no idea how or if it was broken in or what level of abuse it has received. Autowest is known for taking in cars that have been heavily modified / tracked. Just be careful.

bleh, i forgot all about the wagon incident. the fact that it had downrated tires kind of concerns me. that, and they just e-mailed me saying the lowest they could go was $29k. for that price, i'd pay the difference and get brand new.

so it looks like project "let's mod the hell out of an automatic to make it a little faster than a stock manual wrx" is still on.

the guy called me and we discussed pricing. i was like "well, according to bluebook, you guys probably took this in for under 24k, so there's no way i'm paying close to 30k."

i'll just wait and get a new one in a year or so, or maybe move on to something else (the new vette is sexAy) if i make more $$ then.
