Man, some people are too much. My (now ex) shift lead at work found out yesterday that I was moving to days next week. Until now, she'd been fighting to keep me on nights as long as possible, her reason being that they need the coverage, but the real reason being she has vacation scheduled at the end of the month and she didn't want to have to cancel it. I knew this would happen - she'd been fighting to keep me on nights and it was pretty clear that this was the reason. I hadn't contacted her to let her know I was moving shifts because I wanted to wait until next week to give her as little time as possible to try and take the easy path and fight to get me back on nights.

So I made a reccomendation of another night shift person they could move from the sun-wed shift to cover her week. I think he'd do it - he's a REALLY cool guy. If they won't move him, or can't, then I have to go back to nights for a week and interrupt my training, which will slow down projects because I'll be building and configuring a bunch servers when I move to days. My new manager is thankful that I'd move back to nights for a week without fuss to make sure that things were covered as needed, but she agrees it's bs that I would have to move and put everything on hold for about two weeks.

At least the night shift will only be for one week, but I'm going to be a wreck (sleepwise) if this goes down

I hate office politics and the personal agendas that come with it. That ish boggles my mind. Your (now ex) manager could have just asked if you'd be willing to stay on shift so that she could take her vacation. Things tend to get figured out a bit easier that way.

my wife's boss tried to take her 9-80 day away (every other monday off) so that she could cover for the receptionist when the receptionist takes her 9-80 day. finally her boss saw how stupid that was and put everything back to the way it was.

I'd love to be on the 9/80 schedule... but it is unavailable to me until I get promoted to an Examiner/Adjuster. I am pretty much at my office for nearly 9 hours anyway. I think that I would choose to take the Mondays off (every other one that is) that way I can eliminate the "Monday Factor"

we can choose between monday or friday at my office. I used to take mondays off because things are less busy on mondays than on fridays. take a trip to tahoe for example. sat-sun night is expensive, sun-mon night is damn near free at the big casino's. but i had to switch mine to fridays because this project i'm on now has a lot of monday meetings.

Mmm, borla'd outback...

BTW, do any of the Sac/Not Reno folks who are headed up to the Reno Track day at the end of the month need a place to stay overnight?

muahahaha. i just got my car back from big-ho tires and had all 10 quarts of tranny fluid replaced with redline hi-temp atf. it's a noticeable improvement, but now it really makes me want to upgrade the TC.
