Hey RussB I saw you getting on to HWY50 South at Bradshaw this morning around 8:30. I would have waived, but I was in my truck and figured you would have thought I was some wacko WRX groupie or ex-miata driver.

Well, it looks like I'll have to back out of Buttonwillow. MPJ doesn't have any RA gearsets ready and won't have the parts from Rallispec in time to build one and install it for me.

I really think the close RA gearset with overdriven 5th are the way to go for a street-driven WRX. Retains highway fuel economy while keeping the engine revs in its optimum range during track days.

I've got a big Excel spreadsheet that I made for all of the different gearsets (RA, Kaaz, Gimmie, TXS) and I had come to the same conclusion a few weeks ago. The RA seems to be the best combo for the track.
Rallispec is pretty backed up and the sets that are already coming to MPJ have to go out for cryo treatment and then get installed into a case. Mike doesn't think there will be enough time to do all of that. He was being pretty realistic which I appreciate.
