Geico has called it a total loss. I have full coverage + gap insurance, and with the proposed value (ie cost to replace) around 15k, it just means I most likely will be out my deductible and a sweet car.

Since the FXT purchase was only 4 months ago, I'm not sitting on a good savings right now, hence my search for a reliable 5-8k car. (really trying to stay in the Subi family)

Well, the 01 H4 5 spd has no pictures yet (just being checked out), says "grey".
There is an 01 H6 auto (ll bean) is standard green over goldish.

While I want a manual, I hear the h6 is a more reliable engine (but only available with an auto)

And yes, it's a shame that so much damage happened in the crash, happy it took the hits for me though.

Yeah your health is the more important part. Hrmm well is the drive train on the FXT shot? could buy it back and dump the drive train into a RS/L shell and have a fun track car. =D

I'd say not worth it. I can post the pics tonight, but it appears that the drivers side timing belt was no longer on the cam gear, the cover was shattered and all I saw was shiny gear teeth.
May explain why it wouldn't start.....

Another loan will happen, just hurting for cash down. What're you selling?

(gf graduates in June and there's a good chance we'll be relocating, if that's the case I'm hoping to have very little car payment action if possible)

Keep it close to Roseville and I should be able to get a newbie out with his 2010 WRX... co-worker of mine.
