Alright, so guys, now that my catback's been sitting next to my bed for the last four months, i figure it's about time to sell. I've been looking around in the classified here, as well as nasioc to try to find a fair price. So far i've seen $400 for one with the canister half dented/crushed. $500 for one with no dents or major scratches(mine'll fit around this category). $650 for one that's practically brand new, ~3500miles. None of these are still up for sale, or so i assume. Now the question, how much does the hole crew think i should sell my exhaust for? If anyone's seen more prices for a JIC Bullet 505S Ti exhaust, let me know, so i can adjust accordingly. In the meantime, i shall start cleaning it

Just a few things. I already put on my stock exhaust. Sold the accessport and downpipe, and now just the catback left. I also took out my coilovers and now i'm on stock struts and tanabe springs. Once i find a wingless trunk, i'll be done.

Hey thanks for all the advice guys, i think my final decision is definitely a turbo back but as for how i am going to tune it im not sure yet, i am a freshman in college aka IM BROKE so i am leaning towards opensource option cuz it is considerably cheaper but if by some miracle i can find a really nicely priced accessport i would go with that.
also i know a guy who is selling his turbo back (not sure what kind yet) and i'm not positive if he tuned it, if he hadnt tuned it would there be damage to the actual exhaust components or just to his car

Thanks
Scott (it seems weird to be referred to as redils16)

Hey Scott,

Since you're not in a rush, take your time looking for deals, and you'll eventually find something worthwhile. If not, opensource sounds fine. The turboback you're talking about should be fine. If the car wasn't tuned, which i hope it was, there might be severe damage to the motor, but the metal pipping of the turboback itself will be fine. As long as there's no giant dents/scratches that bother you, and if the price is right, go for it. As far as being broke, i feel ya. Alex and I are both in college, about to graduate. The rest of the guys here are a bit older though, and some are just plain OLD.

ya i think i will be patient until the end of the summer and if by then i cant find a good price i may just take the plunge and buy one also i see you're from palo alto/davis does that mean UC DAVIS, i went to U of O for my first quarter but my girlfriend goes to davis and my older sister is a senior there and my brother is a 5th year senior so i decided to come home to DVC (diablo valley college, you have prob heard of it its a pretty well know CC) and then transfer to davis my junior year, but im in davis pretty much every weekend i cant wait till im an actual davis student not just the kid who comes up to party every weekend =]

damn..so much activity all of a sudden.

Scott,

Seems like you have a minor misconception. The turboback is just the piping, and the tune is for your car's engine control unit. What a "tune" does is it lets the engine know how to deal with the new better-flowing piping.

And even if you're broke, i say the minimum you can do for your car is accessport. if you get hassled by cops, you're going to need the stock "tune" back on your car along with stock exhaust piping. This is very convenient with accessport, but i doubt its the case with openECU.

Since its "just" stage 2, you can find plenty of info on NASIOC.

John: you still owe me a ride in your car. I'm gonna call you right now
