emergency help! well maybe not emergency
Okay guys, 1st off...i am definitely coming out to SJ for the wingstop meet; can never pass chowdown on some good wings.
2nd, welcome to the forums buddy! Hope to see you out tonight!
3rd, I just received my Greddy RS BOV today and I self installed (which I must say I am proud of myself after much effort 1hr 45 minutes). My problem is that knew once I installed it, there would be some sort of irregularities due to the pressure difference, but the engine idle speed fluctuates like crazy (my normal engine idle is about 500-650maybe even 700) but now its idling at 500 then fluctuates high then so low below 500 that it almost seems an engine stall is imminent, then it shoots back up to normal idle. For example when I pressed the clutch in, downshifted 3rd to 2nd and came to a stop, the idle dropped extremely low and then shot back up to normal. And just now on the way home, the car backfired at least 3 times. I was told by a friend that it might be the throttle plate that's dirty and another friend said that I will need a cobb accessport to reflash it, but since those are so damn expensive, I figured I could use a tactrix cable to reflash it.
What do you guys think?
Anybody have a cobb accessport or a tactrix cable I could use? If you don't feel comfortable with me borrowing it (fellow subaru owner's honesty), then could we meet up and you help me reflash? I am willing to pay you some in return for helping me.
WINGSTOP FTW!!!!!

As far as your friend telling you you need a Cobb AP that has nothing to do with it AFAIK, reflashing the ECU for Stage 1 or Stage 2 doesn't really depend on stock or aftermarket BOV. The car is already flashed to Stage 2 via XPT Tuning, if I were you honestly, I would sell the greddy or just take it offand put the stock one back on, but that is just me. If someone can chime in to why the idle is really low, then help out by all means. Good luck though!
John
Also, why is it taking you almost 2 hours to switch the BOV? Isn't it just a simple two screws and clamp for the intercooler hose? Should take a few minutes at most.
