Theres only about 14 miles of pretty smooth gravel, you really can get by without flaps.

Man, you don't need mud flaps at all. The car will only be getting dusty (real dusty)

so your saying that there is not a remote possibility of getting a rock thrown up onto the side of my vehicle. I just bought my car in june I'd like the paint job to last at least one year. So does any body know where to get mud flaps?

Actually I don't really know of any that won't mess up your car putting them on more than a couple of rock dings will.

The puny things they put on outback sports won't fit on our cars because of the skirts, the rear ones will, but all of the serious rally mudflaps require drilling holes to bolt them to your fender.

Pete Lahm sells REAL rally mudflaps; check his "KD mudflaps and material" link;

http://www.p-sport.com

but I don't really know of other sources, although I'm sure they are out there....

here's another mudflaps link
http://www.azpinstalls.com/rallyarmor

not quite as serious and correspondingly cheaper but probably more than adequate. Probably look better on a street car too.

Bummer- actually the giving directions parts only take up an hour or two out of the whole trip, we'll miss you.

So who is going to take that last spot?

You probably don't even need a navigator for this. It's pretty straightforward.

The solution is she drives - you give directions. Or switch off between stages. Might be worth a try.
