here's some things to throw out there for discussion
there are a few places to meet off of the 99 exits in Stockton,
the ideal choice would be off of Hammer Lane, with Walmart and the various gas stations and fast food.
if you're willing to go a few more blocks into town (like 3-4) there's two pearl tea places.
from there, we can go down into Manteca, go to like Yosemite, do the few pick ups there, then hit I-5,
my question is how many people is going to be coming from the manteca meet?
it might just be easier to stop at tracy and have the manteca/modesto people meet up at the tracy in and out instead.

Im thinking about a meet off I5 south just as you get off the 4. Maybe near a gas station by the indutrial area next to that Nestle factory. That way nobody has to backtrack. Then, 1 more meet in the Pleasanton area.

If we have meets all over the place then we'd have to pop smoke from EGKK a lot earlier which is bad on a Sunday Morning.

We'l just keep it simple and get into depth as it gets closer. keep the ideas coming though.

This thread is a "heads-up" thread as of now.

if we're going to go that far down, might as well as meet at the Lathrop Business complex off of i-5, the one w/ the university of phoenix satelite.
i do agree though, less stops we make, easier it'll be.
we can't pick up everybody, and i'm willing to drive.

edgar does have a pretty good idea, but it depends on how many people are coming from the area south of stockton

My wife and I will be going from Stockton and we will meet anywhere. Although I live a stones throw away from HWY 99 off the Hammer Ln Exit and we could get a Stockton meet going at my house. We also don't have to "Stop" in Stockton. We can set up a contact person to call one of us or moniter FRS Radios and just roll onto the freeway when the caravan is near.
**Also as a side note, how about us driving the back roads over the pass? Grantline exit in Tracy then left on Altamont Pass Rd over the hill. It's a great drive and a great way to "Warm Up" for Mt Hammy. Just a thought and nothing tooooo crazy but "Spirited".

i think the lathrop compromise is a pretty good idea for the official stop,
and i'm up for pdqwrx's idea for the stockton crowd to just merge into the carvan as such.
and i really like the idea of a warm up session

what it looks like that we have,
(this is officially an ASSUMPTION don't qoute me)
the sacramento guys are going to meet at Elk Grove,
then from there go down to Stockton,
some of the stockton people are going to meet up via merging on 99,
then they are going to take the cross town freeway (most logical)
then make an actual STOP at the lathrop area, meet up with the people south of stockton,
the manteca, lathrop, modesto people,
then we'll hit the 205-580,
quite possible maybe taking an alternative route, maybe, maybe not, (PDQWRX idea)
then stop in pleasanton,
then make our way down to Milpitas for the Dave & Busters meet before caravaning as a large group up to Mt. Hammy via 680 and 130. (???this going to happen?)

i know we can streamline this more,
we need more input!
the stockton people,
do we want to do PDQWRX's idea, or want to meet at the Lathrop point?

I'm leaning toward the Lathrop point based on simplicity and to prevent confusion.

This will be plan as of now but it may change slightly with more input. HOWEVER, we will stop in stockton instead of having those merge onto 99... that would require timing and could be dangerous.

Who went to Mt/ Hammy from Stockton last year? I'd like to meet at that same gas station off Hammer IIRC. ANYONE?

I'LL THINK OF A FINAL PLAN WITHIN THE NEXT 2 WEEKS SO MAKE SURE YOU LOOK AT THE THREAD.

O.K. Going over the pass via back roads happens at Tracy so we can still meet with EVERYONE even the Tracy people. This is a very fun road even for novice drivers and will be a great start to a great day at Hammi.

As much as i'd love to do that we'll be on a time hack to meet others.

I talked to Zoeb and he said they'll be meeting at The Stoneridge Mall in pleasaton. http://wilsons.know-where.com/wilson...02030&address= so this will be our last meet until we meet everyone before going up the hill.

All we need now is a solid meeting point off Hammer lane (gas station fellas?) and maybe one just outside of Stockton for a quick minute so i need ides on those.
