Sorry I didn't see you guys...
...but I was the one under that Nissan P/U truck wrenching away replacing the alternator.
Helping out the guy was pretty cool, though. I like doing that kind of "side of the road" mechanic work.
This guy gave me a picture for my efforts in the end. A pic of Benjamin Franklin.
I'm glad I had my tools and could help.

I wish I had checked back on this thread earlier, I would’ve stopped by, I was down there and I drove right by! To think I’ve had my car for this long and haven’t met hardly anyone. Oh well, I blame you Norm for not letting me know!

I NEVER turn down $$ when it's offered, either, though. I would feel bad charging someone who simply couldn't afford it, and figure it'll come back to me with good "CARma". Sometimes, all I get is a thank you, and then sometimes...
It all works out in the end.
Another time, when I was in SoCal, I helped this guy out that ran out of gas in a remote area of PCH...
...long story short, he found me about 4 months later, stuck on the side of the road, and happened to have the exact size bolt I needed to make a repair on my own car.
