yo! ok so i drove my car yesterday for like 20 min just across town and back, so i go out today and the ****in battery is dead WTF i have been gone for like 5 days before and had trouble starting i dont know whats goin on. less then 24 hrs and it wont start.

over the last year i have had charging issues. new alt, new batt but when im at a stop light with the blower motor goin and or foot on the break my charging drops dramatically. so after the new batt and alternator and subaru of Americas lack of giving a ****. ( as long as it charges at 14 at idle they dont think anything is wrong) i just gave up cuz it was summer and i dont use my defroster then. and its been doin the charge drop at stoplights all winter still beenlike **** it it starts everytime. now i let it sit for less then 24hrs and dead and its not like i havnt let it sit before i got a 3 day weekend everyother week so some time i dont drive it at all.

help!

i read alot of things about the bat and alternator but nothing else, and i have taken it back to stock electrically before, no amps, no timer, no gauges, and still get the drop in charging at stop lights.

yah ive messed with that too. but with the stereo, timer, gauges could have other grounds bad. think im gonna have to take all the aftermarket **** all the way out and run new wires and everything just to be sure. and thats gonna be a pain but only thing i can think of. just jumped it and its charging at 14 like it supposed to so i sat there and then set my timer for 10 min so i dont have to sit outside while it charges.

just gonna have to start it in a few hours to so i make sure it stays charged so i can get to work in the am.

im betting a ground or bad connection somewhere. the stereo wiring isnt the best because the previous owner did it and i just assumed it was right still wierd it didnt start till last year. im gonna take the timer off completely. not really needed anyway, maybe its power draw for the memory is messin with the batt. that combined with the cold weather.

You might have a constant still running due to the wiring for the stereo or something. If you havent done this yet and If you have a circuit tester pull the deck and see what turns on when the car is in accessory or in on position and see if it turns off. Red I believe is IGN and Yellow should be battery. If this doesnt make much sense let me know and Ill try and explain further or meet up sometime and help you out. and This should definitely rule out the stereo problem.

I picked up a SPT Sti lip today for cheap just need to bondo the crack that was there. It isnt has cool looking as some of the lips out there but itll give it a different look and I wont be scared to hit anything since it doesnt come that low off the bumper.

Don't Bondo a crack, fiberglass it. It'll be more stronger than the way it was made.
